Semicolon Cafe is growing, and we're looking for partners who share our standard for coffee, space, and hospitality. Here's what it takes to become a franchisee.

Semicolon Cafe is an in-house brand of The Three Chords, Inc. (TTC). That means every franchisee gets more than just a name and a look — you're joining a company with real coffee infrastructurebehind it.

  • Stable, discounted La Colombe supply.

    • ​As part of the TTC network, every Semicolon Cafe location sources La Colombe coffee at franchise pricing, with consistent supply so you're never scrambling for beans.

  • Professional coffee education.

    • ​TTC provides access to espresso machine setup, maintenance support, and barista training/consulting — infrastructure most independent cafes have to build from scratch.

  • One condition: all Semicolon Cafe locations use La Colombe coffee exclusively. This is what keeps quality, pricing, and training consistent across every store.

Franchisee Requirements

Before you apply, here's what we look for:

  • Legal right — The legal right to own and operate a franchise in the United States

  • Upfront fee — $30,000 in non-gifted, non-borrowed funds for the initial franchise fee

  • Financial History— No bankruptcy in your financial history

  • Location commitment — actively searching for or holding a lease/property in your target market

  • Hands-on ownership — ready to be involved in day-to-day operations, not a passive investor

  • Coffee commitment — willing to exclusively serve La Colombe coffee, supplied through TTC

  • Brand alignment — genuine enthusiasm for specialty coffee and the Semicolon Cafe experience

  • Timeline clarity — a realistic opening window (within 6 months, 6–12 months, or 12+ months)

Meeting these doesn't guarantee approval — every application is reviewed individually.

5 Steps to Becoming a Semicolon Cafe Franchisee

03. Site Selection & Franchise Agreement

Fill out our Franchise Inquiry Form with your background, target location, and investment budget. Our team reviews every submission.

If your profile is a fit, we'll schedule a call to walk through the brand, the numbers, and what ownership looks like day to day — including how the La Colombe supply and training program work.

Once you've identified a location, our team will review the site against our criteria. After approval, you'll sign the Franchise Agreement and submit the initial franchise fee.

04. Build-Out & Training

We'll guide you through build-out standards and get your team trained on operations, coffee craft, and service before opening day.

05. Grand Opening

We work with you to plan your opening — from marketing support to on-site training in your first week.
